I'm normal right? Wait don't answer that!

Ok my wondering of normalcy it that I never post! I think about and then boom, the day is gone! I feel like I'm not accomplishing much but the day comes and goes just as fast as the ones before it. I thought for sure I would have tons of time to post all of our life fun times. I have plenty to post, plenty of pictures to share but it still isn't getting done! Where is that blogging fairy that I was promised?( see below as to why she is probably not getting her job done) She is really slacking on her job, whatever it is that she does. So I know that I keep promising all of these fun post of things we did, one day I hope that happens. Until then know that we are alive and doing well. Jordan is working hard in school and has a projected Spring 2013 to be finished!!!!! I think I'm more excited than he is :D But we are happy and that's what matters, even if I'm being forced to be in Ogden longer than I'd like.

The Aquarium

Our friends Josh and Megan had mentioned that they wanted to go to the Living Planet Aquarium and we thought it would be fun to make a double date out of it. Plus I was really excited to see the otters, they are so cute!
We decided to go on a Saturday, left around 3, got there around 4, found out they close at 5. We weren't even half way through when we found out what time they closed so we had to rush through the last little bit but it was worth it. Josh works at Petco in the Marine section so he enjoys learning and watching the aquatic area. While I was really just wanting to see penguins and otters.
The first big exhibit was otters, and they did not disappoint with how cute they were. There were 3 of them and they were all boys who were having a great time chasing each other and wrestling. Even though I didn't learn this at the aquarium, I found out that when otter mates sleep they hold hands so that they don't float away from each other! HOW CUTE IS THAT! I believe they were definitely the cutest part of the day :)
While we were looking at an octopus maneuver it's way around it's tank the worker was telling us stories of how intelligent they really are. So much that there are videos of one unscrewing the lid to his tank and eating other fishes! CRAZY! With their previous octopus they could put a canvas with paint brushes on top of the tank and he would paint a picture with holes that they had placed in the lid. It was really cool to learn all of the interesting facts about them.
We then ran into what they are estimating to be a 90-100 year old lobster! I wish we would have taken a picture because it was HUGE! She told us that you wouldn't want to eat one that large or old because their meat would most likely taste rancid. So unlike beef they do not get better with age.
This is when we found out they were closing in about 15 minutes! So we made a quick glance at the other stops so we could see everything they had to offer.

Next stop Penguins. I don't know what it is about these cute birds that I love so much but they just make me smile. And no it was not Happy Feet that created a love for them. Even when we go to the Zoo I can't wait to see them. But I've always wanted to get a picture of them swimming. It's never happened. Either they don't want to get in the water or my camera isn't ready. One day it will be done, I know it. You can tell from this picture they had been splashing around with all the water there was, but we didn't get it. Instead we have them playing King of the Hill. In which this penguin is obviously winning.

The last stop was the Sting Rays. When I went to the aquarium in Denver I had my experience with touching them, it was good enough to last for the rest of my life. Jordan was really excited to touch them. So much that he put is arm in the water that he had previously gashed open while at work. Salt water sure felt good on that :)
There was one more place everyone else went but me, the snake area. No thanks, I've seen them and they are frightening, I will just look at the fun stuffed animals.
We had a great time and look forward to more double date experiences.

A year has come....

Monday marked the 1 year mark since Jordan and I were married. I can't believe that it's already been a year. But it's like they say "Time flies when you're having fun!" The traditional gift for the 1st year is paper, so we decided to do a twist on that. We got paper tickets to a Jazz game! We both enjoy Jazz games and hadn't been to one in so long. It was something a poor newlywed couple could afford when the tickets were 2 for 1. We stayed in Salt Lake Sunday night and then spent Monday on the town just enjoying each others company. For dinner we had The Cheesecake Factory, which was so delicious, then headed to the game to sit at the very top of the Arena. Even at the very top we had a lot of fun and the best part is that they won! We even got to see Al Jefferson's first career 3 point shot. He dedicated it to his grandma that passed away earlier in the week.

Once we drove home after the game we participated in the tradition of eating the top off your cake from your wedding. Thanks again to my mom for storing it in her freezer for a year! :) We both were a bit nervous as to how it would taste and had our cheesecake as back up in case it was too much to handle. From the look on our faces you would never be able to tell it actually tasted pretty good. The cake that is, NOT the frosting. The cake tasted as good as I remember it a year ago. But the sugar in the frosting has crystallized or something because it was really gritty. Even though I don't think we will be eating the entire top it was really fun to have a taste of a year ago.

We only had a day away from the hustle of life, it was great to be away for a bit and celebrate a year together :)

Happy Birthday Jordan!

On December 29th we celebrated Jordan' 26th birthday! Kinda. We actually had a pre-celebration on the 28th with the first cake wreck by Summer & Chelsey. Summer wanted to get together and do a b-day bash for Jordan and test out the new Cricut Cake that she got for Christmas. So earlier in the week I had gotten a CIRCLE V seasoned roast, so I decided we could do a dinner and then have cake and ice cream. Summer, Lilly, Josh & Megan came over to wish him a happy one. Summer & I made the cake which didn't turn out as well as we would have liked. It tasted good just didn't look like the miraculous work we were hoping for.
The next night Jordan had to work to about 8pm, after that his mom and dad came up and took us to dinner. We went to Wendy's Sukiyaki, a Japanese restaurant, which was absolutely delicious and I can't wait to go back.
When we went down south for the New Year's Eve bash, we celebrated again with my family. We had brownies and presents. As Summer said, "The biggest perk about getting into the Liddiard family is that you get presents on your birthday." It's very true.

Christmas Time

So it came and went just like it always does, leaving us tired and full. Christmas is always such a busy day that it's hard to relax and enjoy the day. Luckily this year since it was on a Sunday it did seem a little more relaxed.
Jordan and I drove down to Spanish Fork on Christmas Eve and enjoyed a great dinner at the Quist's. It was so sweet of them to have us over and feed us delicious food! I had to leave a little early and missed out on the Rice Pudding Game. Which from what I hear might not have been such a bad thing that I missed it. For those of you that don't know what it is, a large portion of rice pudding is made and an almond is stuck somewhere in the pudding. You then serve everyone pudding and who ever finds the almond is the winner. On this go around it was Lexi, Kirsten's daughter, who found the almond on the last bit of the pudding.
While Jordan was enjoying the dessert I was out making the annual deliveries of the Rounds' cinnamon rolls. My mom makes them every year and we deliver them to her brothers, sisters and very close friends. My brother, Jared, and I are the usual ones the make the deliveries. Most of the family includes the rolls as a part of their Christmas breakfast.
Christmas Eve we spent at my parents where we opened our PJs and went to bed. We got up early the next morning and went to church where my Grandma was singing in the choir. After that block of meeting we rested for a little bit then went to Woodland Hills to attend another church meeting. It's really cool how the same county can have such different and uplifting Christmas programs. We had to sneek out a little early and headed back down to my Grandparents to have the Liddiard Christmas. As always there was great food and we were spoiled with presents.
Next round we went back to Woodland Hills to enjoy the Thomas Christmas. Once again there was more great food!(It really is a miracle I don't weigh 1000# with all of the holiday goodness at my disposal.) The Quist family came over this time and we enjoyed our Christmas dinner. After dinner we relaxed and enjoyed the company of our family, tried to Skype with Corinne, Joe & Jackson and then opened presents.
Once everything quieted down Jordan had to head back up to Ogden since he had to work the next day. I stayed at my parents since we would be going to Heber the following morning to visit my dad's family. All in all we had a great time and can't wait to do it all again Christmas 2012!

As I type this post it has yet to have a title and maybe it will remain that way. I promise that I will post of all the holiday fun, and Jordan's b-day pictures once I have time to sort through them.
I have been feeling a little overwhelmed at the end of the holiday season from the whirlwind of motion and good cheer. Sometimes it's hard to settle back into "real life" and realize that fun/chaos won't be back for another year. Since it is now January both myslef and Jordan aren't as busy with work as we have been, so the financial crisis loops through my mind constantly of how are we ever going to make it through! On Friday I was so excited to hear that I had a interview at a bank. I kept telling myself that I shouldn't get my hopes up and to just go in with an open mind and everything will be ok. I am so grateful that I kept that in my mind. I believe it was Heavenly Fathers way of not letting something bring me down. The interview didn't go as well as I had hoped it would but I gained more interview experience and that is what I feel this was meant for. Experience and nothing else. So even though I probably won't be hearing back from them, I'm ok with it.
Fast forward to today, Wednesday, when I had to be to work at 6AM. (Even though we all go through the I don't want to go to work, once I got there I was happy to be there and not just sitting at home eating all my Christmas treats.) When I got there some members of my team asked how the interview went and I told them not well. They were so sweet and supportive that it totally made my day! I love my Old Navy team! They are really the best people to work with and I get along with them so well, I couldn't have found a better job to get myself settled into Ogden. So thank you girls for all of your help you have supplied to me! While at work my manager told me Congratulations on being the November Employee of the Month. I was in shock! I had really tried to make sure I was doing my part but didn't expect that. I know it might not be a big deal but today it meant something to me.
All in all I feel that today was a humbling day. It was just what I needed to help me not worry about money. I am still standing strong on putting my faith in the Lord and he will help me through. Each month that grows stronger to me. I am also very grateful that I get to participate in baptisms for the dead tomorrow with my cousin Brendan. He is such a great example to me that at turning 12 this is what he wants to do! I'm so excited to be able to share this moment with him and my family. Plus I am super excited to go to the temple! With all the holiday rush it has been really hard to find the time to go. Even though I have to drive to Provo, I haven't been there since I did my endowment session in March of last year and I'm really excited to go back! This visit is just what I need so thank you Brendan!

The MoTab Christmas Concert

For the past few years we have put in our names to be selected as one a thousands to have the opportunity to attend either the Christmas Devotional or the Christmas Concert. This year we didn't get chosen for either one :( Jared still wanted to go to the Christmas concert and asked if I would come and wait in the stand by line with him. Even though I was knew I was going to freeze I said sure because I knew he really wanted to go. We had a plan to leave at about 3:30 but Jordan was late getting off work so we didn't leave to around 5:30. We dropped Jared off while went parked the car, he called and told us to meet him at the Tabernacle instead. This year instead of waiting out in the cold the church decided to bring the standby line into the Tabernacle to stay warm and proceed with handing out tickets as you came in. We were 171, 172 & 173. They told us there was a pretty good chance that we would all get it as there were empty seats the nights before. We were maybe waiting 10 minutes when they asked for a party of 3. Nobody replied before us so we said "Um, we do." We were then introduced to Sterling Poulson, Channel 2 weather man. He escorted us down to the Conference Center and had small talk with us on the way down to get to know us. He gave us our tickets and we were in! we followed him down to the our seats which were 14 rows from the stage! We sat next to him and he said, "Is this ok?"
We replied "It's great!"
"Well you guys have a Merry Christmas, it was nice meeting you."
"Thank you! Merry Christmas to you too."
We were so excited! This is were the elite sit, right?! We sat next to Sterling, his wife and sister in law. Jordan, being very much like his dad, had a good conversation with them. Jokes were had about how we can only watch channel 2 news from now on, guaranteed weather, and more getting to know you conversation. Jared and I were a little lost since we were the ones sitting farthest away.
It was such a great experience and then to be able to listen to all of the beautiful stories and music by The Morman Tabernacle Choir, Nathan Gunn and Jane Seymore. We can't take pictures during the show so I took a couple after. One of which was trying to get Sterling(didn't work well). The concert ended and Sterling wished us a Merry Christmas once more and we parted our ways out of the building. He was so nice to come and let 3 strangers share in the Christmas spirit with him and I will always remember that night.

Pictures are located in the slide show below.

Of course, we had our down moment when after we were done eating I had a parking ticket on my car :( Oh well such is life.
