A year has come....

Monday marked the 1 year mark since Jordan and I were married. I can't believe that it's already been a year. But it's like they say "Time flies when you're having fun!" The traditional gift for the 1st year is paper, so we decided to do a twist on that. We got paper tickets to a Jazz game! We both enjoy Jazz games and hadn't been to one in so long. It was something a poor newlywed couple could afford when the tickets were 2 for 1. We stayed in Salt Lake Sunday night and then spent Monday on the town just enjoying each others company. For dinner we had The Cheesecake Factory, which was so delicious, then headed to the game to sit at the very top of the Arena. Even at the very top we had a lot of fun and the best part is that they won! We even got to see Al Jefferson's first career 3 point shot. He dedicated it to his grandma that passed away earlier in the week.

Once we drove home after the game we participated in the tradition of eating the top off your cake from your wedding. Thanks again to my mom for storing it in her freezer for a year! :) We both were a bit nervous as to how it would taste and had our cheesecake as back up in case it was too much to handle. From the look on our faces you would never be able to tell it actually tasted pretty good. The cake that is, NOT the frosting. The cake tasted as good as I remember it a year ago. But the sugar in the frosting has crystallized or something because it was really gritty. Even though I don't think we will be eating the entire top it was really fun to have a taste of a year ago.

We only had a day away from the hustle of life, it was great to be away for a bit and celebrate a year together :)
